Richard R. House, Jr. was named President of CompuCredit (later known as Atlanticus) in October 2000 and became a director in May 2001. Mr. House served as Chief Credit Officer from the time he joined CompuCredit in April 1997 until being named President. Mr. House resigned his position as President and Director of Atlanticus in March 2014 in order to found Veta Finance,LTD which is a London based company focused on consumer credit in the United Kingdom.
Mr. House has over 25 years of experience in the consumer credit industry. From 1993 until 1997, Mr. House managed and directed Equifax’s Decision Solutions division, the company’s quantitative analysis and modeling group. Prior to joining Equifax in 1991, he was employed by the JC Penney Company, where he held various positions in credit operations and credit policy.
Mr. House also has experience founding other new companies. In 1996 Mr. House co-founded Visionary Systems, Inc. which was software company focused on analytics. That company was subsequently sold to Trans Union. In 2000, he co-founded Tech Tower Properties which is focused on building and managing cellular towers in the South Florida market. In December 2013 Mr. House founded Joe Mack Ventures which is a fund focused on technology investments.
Mr. House earned a B.A. degree in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Southern Methodist University.
